This well-known adage applies to anyone performing a skill, whether it be an athlete, a musician, or a surgeon. For surgeons performing laparoscopic procedures, however, the resources available for practicing even basic procedures have been too expensive, too remote, or too inconvenient... until now.
The EZ TRAINER is an affordable, portable, and compact laparoscopic trainer that can be used at either the home or office. Like any other performer, the surgeon can now practice new techniques, refine existing skills, or simply warm up before a procedure.
Convenient and easy-to-use
Residents consistently find the EZ Trainer to be a convenient and portable tool for developing and refining their laparoscopic skills. A few minutes on the EZ Trainer before each procedure is also an excellent way to get the mind adjusted to the laparoscopic environment, no matter one's skill level.
To use the EZ Trainer, the user simply slides a laptop computer into the front slot and then plugs in the USB connector. Surgical instruments are inserted through the front panel, which contains a camera on its inside face and blocks the user from visualizing the procedure directly. Live video of the instruments appears on the laptop screen, allowing the user to simulate the laparoscopic environment.
The many instrument insertion sites enable the surgeon to practice a wide array of procedures, whether they be simple transfer exercises or more complex suturing routines.
A comprehensive written as well as videotape instruction guide comes with each unit. The EZ Trainer has been highly rated by surgeons at all levels of experience.
MAC USERS: Unfortunately, for now the EZ Trainer is compatible only with PCs running Microsoft Windows.
